I had two doctor appointments this week, one with my ob/gyn and one with the "substitute" maternal fetal specialist (MFS) who has now become my permanent MFS because I really like him. Basically, E is maintaining the status quo. Her hydrocephalus has remained stable and will likely only grow about 1 mm more as she continues to grow the last two and a half weeks. She is up to five pounds and is in the 29%. I'm hoping she can at least make six pounds, which is why I'm eating like a cow! ;) She also currently has good kidney function and will likely continue to have good function once she's born. We just need to pray for good bladder function after her birth as well.
In light of the neurosurgeon telling me that E may not be kicking, I made both doctors confirm that she was. Both doctors felt and saw her kick on sonogram, so I'm feeling much better about that! Please pray that she continues to kick!!!
I also had the opportunity to tour Children's Medical Center where E will undergo her surgeries, and it is phenomenal! The social worker who gave us the tour was so knowledgeable and answered all million questions that I had. We are truly lucky to live in Dallas where we have such great resources!
My next appointment is next Wednesday, so I'll update more then. Thanks for your continued prayers and support!
